Paleontologist Zack heads to Alaska for an exhilarating fossil hunting expedition accompanied by his nephew Ricky and niece Jade. While their parents enjoy a vacation in Europe, the three embark on a journey filled with discovery and excitement.

During their adventure, Ricky encounters a magical raven named Alex, who possesses the ability to transform into his prehistoric ancestor, the Alexornis. This extraordinary meeting sparks an incredible tale that transcends time and space.

Alex recounts a fascinating story set 70 million years ago in the Late Cretaceous period, focusing on his dear friend Patchi. This narrative introduces viewers to the world of dinosaurs and the challenges faced by young Pachyrhinosaurus hatchlings.

In a world filled with peril, Patchi, a frail Pachyrhinosaurus, finds himself bullied by his older brother, Scowler. Their father, Bulldust, is the revered leader of their herd, but Patchi struggles to gain acceptance and admiration.

Patchi faces a life-threatening situation when he is attacked by a Troodon. His brave father, Bulldust, rushes to save him, leaving Patchi permanently marked with a distinctive hole in his frill, a symbol of his struggle and survival.

As Bulldust leads the herd south for migration, they confront a devastating storm that disrupts their journey. The tumultuous weather is soon complicated by a forest fire, which forces the herd to flee for their lives.

In the midst of their chaos, a menacing pack of Gorgosaurus launches a brutal attack on Patchi's herd. In a heroic attempt to protect his family, Bulldust battles their alpha, Gorgon, but ultimately succumbs to the ferocity of the beast.

In the aftermath of the tragic loss, the surviving members of Patchi's herd merge with Juniper's group under a new leader, Major. This union signifies hope amidst despair, as they seek safety together.

Patchi, Scowler, and Juniper find themselves swept away to the ocean, with Alex uniquely accompanying them. Upon reaching the beach, Scowler chooses to abandon his brother and Juniper in pursuit of food, leaving them to navigate their path back.

As time passes, Scowler becomes the new leader of the herd and chooses Juniper as his mate, leaving Patchi heartbroken. Despite his feelings of jealousy, Patchi continues to navigate the complexities of their relationships.
