It showcases a dramatic pole‑vault duel between West Germany and the United States and the climactic marathon that winds through Tokyo’s streets. The documentary highlights Ethiopian marathon legend Abebe Bikila winning his second gold and Chad’s Ahamed Isa, competing for a nation younger than himself.
