Spanning 1916‑1966, the film follows Juan at his deathbed as memories of his family's saga flood back. In fragmented, often confused streams, he revisits moments linked to the women who shaped his life, seeing lost chances for happiness. Against Spain’s turbulent early‑20th‑century backdrop, his reflections mix personal regret with social upheaval.
