In 1930s Italy, aging aristocrat Gerard clings to erotic tape recordings of his late lover Leonora, who lived a double life as a respectable wife, mother of two, and prostitute. After her death, her children Ursula and Edmund come under Gerard’s care. Ursula’s striking resemblance to Leonora and her use of the tapes draw Gerard into a haunting revival of his lost love.
