Jojo expects an uncle’s inheritance to clear his gambling debts, but the old man tricks him, leaving the cash with a niece and assigning him a large dog. He courts his cousin Kathrin, the beneficiary, and surprisingly falls for her. A trip to the French Riviera with a gambling partner attracts a corrupt police officer, turning their romance into a deadly thriller where only one survives.
