A boy receives a Velveteen Rabbit for Christmas, but the handmade rabbit is ignored by the newer, pricier and mechanical toys that claim to be real. Speaking with the wise Skin Horse, he learns that a toy becomes truly real only when its owner loves it completely, and that once real, it stays that way forever.
