The documentary recreates a day in Peru’s Canto Grande prison, following female Shining Path guerrillas from morning marches to bedtime chants. Isolated in separate cellblocks, they refuse to acknowledge imprisonment, treating the blocks as another front in the People’s War—“shining trenches of combat.” It reveals intense indoctrination behind the brutal Latin American insurgency.
