In a struggling mining village in northern England, the Old Oak pub serves as a vital hub for a close-knit community facing poverty and hardship. The pub’s proprietor, TJ, offers solace and stability to the locals, but tensions rise as the village grapples with difficult circumstances. The arrival of a group of Syrian refugees brings both hope and unexpected challenges, forcing the community to confront their prejudices and find common ground.
