The film opens with a boastful big‑game hunter entertaining a wide‑eyed boy—drawn as a caricature of Freddie Bartholomew—by recounting his African jungle adventures. He describes a particular hunt in which local natives assist him in catching various animals, producing a string of absurd sight gags: an elephant that forgets its duty and the hunter humorously “shifting gears” on the elephant’s back to climb a steep hill.
