Guilt, desire and thirst swirl in a remote mountain village where a young footballer, a miserly peasant and a lonely, overweight girl live. Amid a national EU‑referendum they ignore politics, each trapped in personal crises: the player, haunted by his mother’s accidental death, refuses a foreign contract and risks his father’s love; the girl, yearning for companionship, seeks affection even in a pig‑sty; the peasant learns that true misery lies in solitude.
