Every year Lucia volunteers at a summer camp on the Sicilian coast. This season proves the hottest on record, not just for the sweltering weather but also because Nicola, a strikingly handsome deacon‑in‑training, arrives. Beneath his attractive exterior hides a tormented, idealistic soul. His presence unsettles the close‑knit seaside community and upends Lucia’s plans.
