John Hathaway, a college professor convinced jealousy has no place in marriage, moves to New York with his wife Julie to publish a book on the subject. Their publisher, Elliott Morgan, falls for Julie, while John’s assistant Nellie is smitten with him. Julie, suspecting an affair, schemes to provoke John’s jealousy, turning his high‑minded ideals into comic turmoil.
