Lah, a mahout working at an illegal logging site in Burma, flees an imminent police raid by sending his son Saeng and their elephant to relatives in Bangkok. In the city, Saeng resorts to begging on the streets with the animal, drawing the attention of a local mafia that demands a share of his earnings—or faces violent reprisal.
