After completing his military service, Stavros becomes terrified that he will lose his beloved Rita. To keep her, he pretends to be the local fortune‑teller, offering predictions that win over everyone, even Rita’s parents. His ruse convinces them that the suitor they had arranged for their daughter is unsuitable, securing his place with Rita.
