Captain James McKay leaves his urban existence to marry Patricia Terrill in the American West. However, his arrival plunges him into a fierce dispute over land and water rights between the Terrill family and the formidable Hannasseys. As McKay strives to bring peace to the region, he encounters opposition from his future father-in-law and even his bride, who are unwilling to find a compromise.
