Sonja (Birgit Tengroth) lives as a content housewife with her husband Kurt (Åke Grönberg), a factory worker, unaware that she once worked as a prostitute. Her former pimp Nick (Sture Lagerwall) arrives, black‑mailing her for money and shelter or threatening to expose her past. When Nick begins courting Kurt’s naive sister Maj, Sonja must intervene to protect Maj from repeating her own mistakes.
