Inspired by news of a hitch‑hiking chainsaw killer, she devises a plan: fake her own kidnapping, find a young lover, and run away. The ruse gives her brief joy while her family worries. When she decides to return home, her lover refuses to end the affair, turning the pretend abduction into a genuine danger.
