In the last minutes of Site, the surviving characters converge on the abandoned laboratory and finally fire up the experimental time‑machine. When the device hums to life, it does more than simply show flashes of the past—it actually rewrites a pivotal moment in 1931‑‑the night the Kwantung Army’s Unit 731 forced Jian, his wife Xifeng and their son Guang to die. By linking the present to that tragedy through the quantum‑entanglement theory of “Indra’s Net,” the machine gives the trio a chance to escape, forcing the Japanese commander Ichiro to pose as a fleeing prisoner and allowing the family to slip away to Har‑bin.
