Dr. David Stone, a scientist fascinated by Okaloosa wilderness legends of a violent, man‑like beast blamed for many camper disappearances, is funded by wealthy Milton St. John for an expedition. Stone accepts, unaware that St. John’s missing son was one of the victims and that his patron seeks revenge, not scientific discovery.
