A solitary man scavenges garbage, piecing together neighbors’ sex lives by sniffing and analyzing waste. When new tenants move in, he becomes fixated on the attractive wife next door, who is dissatisfied in a marriage where her husband is impotent. One night the neighbor returns drunkenly, reveals he is a chemist developing an aphrodisiac, and hands the protagonist a sample to test.
