Set in early‑1930s Berlin, the film follows the perpetual schemers Harry and Ede, whose endless stream of get‑rich‑quick ideas—ranging from stealing gold from a dentist’s office, to selling pure‑bred dogs at inflated prices, to passing off cheap earrings as prized antiques—always collapse in comically disastrous fashion.
