Roger Deacon, a struggling record producer in the cut‑throat music business, is hired to turn an industry mogul’s glamorous but untalented girlfriend into a singing star. When he discovers a housewife with an extraordinary voice, he covertly has her record the tracks and lip‑sync them for the actress, hoping the ruse will launch their careers.
