A socially awkward, sheltered man lives with his hard‑working sister in a modest farmhouse, subsisting on sporadic odd jobs and her support. When he invites a woodcutter he’s found in the forest into their home, his sister and the newcomer quickly fall in love. Unable to envision a life without his sister, the man becomes increasingly distressed and struggles to cope with the change.
