Jamil, P. Ramlee, has been married for twelve years to Latifah, Zaharah Agus, but they remain childless because Latifah is infertile. Feeling neglected, Jamil decides to take a second wife, Hasnah, Jah Mahadi, without Latifah’s knowledge. Latifah’s father, Haji Latiff, Ahmad Nisfu, secretly blesses the second marriage.
Latifah learns about the new union through a friend and confronts Jamil on the third night of the wedding festivities. Hasnah and Latifah clash, and Jamil flees, vanishing for three days and nights.
To mend fences, Jamil, with his father-in-law’s help, hatches a plan to appease both wives. He fakes injuries and misleads each about a divorce: for Latifah, a broken leg and a story that Hasnah has been divorced; for Hasnah, injuries from a supposed fight and a tale that Latifah has been divorced. In this ruse, Jamil manages to reconcile with both, though neither wife knows about the other.
Back at work, Jamil encounters Ali’s daughter, Rohani, Sarimah Ahmad, and is captivated. He pursues a romance with Rohani, marries her, and moves Rohani and her father into a luxurious beachside home.
One day, Latifah and Hasnah cross paths at a gold shop and rekindle their tension, only to be interrupted by Rohani’s intervention. Rohani invites them to her house for a calm discussion.
At Rohani’s house, Jamil hides when he sees his first and second wives. Rohani calls him to join the others, but he initially refuses. The two women soon spot a photo of Jamil with Rohani, revealing that they share the same husband. They decide not to turn on each other but to hold Jamil accountable for his deceit. They pursue him, and he surrenders, admitting his mistakes and offering to divorce any wife who wishes.
Yet all three still love Jamil, and Rohani’s thoughtfulness helps Latifah and Hasnah see that peace is possible. In the end, all three wives remain married to Jamil, but he must treat them with fairness and equal affection.
