In 1959, a man convicted of a double murder faces execution by beheading. As his head rests in a basket, he recounts a life of apparent perfection. Once admired and beloved, he enjoyed a life as a priest and a passionate lover, seemingly without end. The film draws inspiration from a real-life scandal involving the Priest of Uruffe in the 1950s and explores the downfall of a man who appeared to have it all.
