In 1830 the Karnstein heirs sacrifice an innocent’s blood to resurrect the seductive vampire Mircalla, formerly known as Carmilla in 1710. Their plans focus on the nearby finishing school, where the headmaster yearns to become her disciple and the naïve author Richard Lestrange falls hopelessly in love, while the school’s young ladies become tempting prey.
