In the final moments of Lulli, the accident that had erased Diego’s memory finally catches up with him. As he tries to kiss Lulli after they successfully convince Oscar’s son to undergo surgery, a flood of forgotten feelings returns. He confronts her, demanding to know why she had hidden the truth about their breakup. Overwhelmed by the confrontation, Diego collapses on the hospital floor, gasping for breath.
Lulli, recalling that he once complained of leg pain and shortness of breath, pieces together that he is suffering a pulmonary embolism. She alerts surgeon Paola, who rushes him into emergency surgery. While Lulli clutches his hand, an electrical shock from the defibrillator sears both of them, and when the procedure ends she discovers that the strange mind‑reading gift she had been wielding has vanished.

Diego survives, and his father—who had long been absent from his son’s life—arrives to visit. In a brief, heartfelt exchange, the father admits his love and regrets, underscoring the film’s theme that real connections matter more than ambition or ego. Diego, still bewildered but grateful, asks Lulli how she helped during the operation. She replies simply, “I finally listened.” The confession breaks the lingering barrier between them, and they share a tender kiss, signaling the restoration of their relationship.
The movie then jumps forward two years: Lulli, Diego, and their friends graduate as surgeons. Lulli, now fully aware that true healing comes from hearing people’s stories rather than their thoughts, continues to rely on genuine conversation with her patients. The ending ties together the magical episode as a catalyst for her personal growth, showing that selfishness can be undone by empathy, love, and the willingness to truly listen.
