Apolena, a herbalist, discovers a baby abandoned in a rye field and raises him as Rye. He grows into a brave young man and is recruited into the king’s army. Prince Neklan, the king’s advisor, forces Rye to collect unjust taxes, exposing him to the corruption of power. Rye rebels against this injustice, captivating Princess Adelka with his sense of justice and cleverness. However, his virtue also attracts the attention of the devil Philistine, who disguises herself and attempts to tempt him with promises of wealth and fame. Now, Rye must contend with both Neklan's schemes and the power of hell itself.
