Mary and Bob keep their romance alive over a summer spent in a voluntary youth program, though their parents keep meddling foolishly. Tensions rise when Zika, after a fleeting flirtation with Mary’s mother, draws the involvement of two German girls, Elza and Giza, leading to the story’s climax.
