It is 1989, the year socialism collapsed in Eastern Europe. Yet the film does not focus on that historic idealism; instead, its wild, burlesque collage of motifs mocks arrogant politicians with heads in the clouds. Set in the grim, decaying pub Gólya and its surroundings, the work exposes the mystery and elusiveness of everyday political life.
