The film depicts a traditional Christmas celebration as a safety valve, a cleansing ritual that revitalizes participants for the new year. Colleagues gather at tables, shedding pretenses while directors and workers toast, local democracy works and marriages strain. Few parties match the exuberance of the staff gathering at Simonsens Bijouteri Fabrik.
