The showboat rolls into town under Captain Benny’s command. A quartet belts “Go Into Your Dance” in tribute to Al Jolson, then introduces a pig caricature of Paul Whiteman as conductor. A musician plugs the pig’s tail into a light socket, sending the band at high speed. Benny then opens amateur hour, featuring an operatic cow and a poet reciting.
