Bob Clemens, a newsreel cameraman, is sent to film Swiss champion Karen Vadja but arrives too late. He films a woman skating at a New York rink and passes the footage off as Karen. Promoter Larry Herman sees the reel and makes the skater a star, unaware she’s illegal‑immigrant Marie Bergin. Bob’s ruse unravels, leading to a scramble to fix it.
