Conductor Montemayor, driven by jealousy, discovers his young wife Winifred is involved with the American Jack Mortimer. After a concert rehearsal he hires a taxi to the train station, spots Mortimer and fires a hidden gun from the back seat, the shot drowned by traffic. The taxi driver, Sponer, finds the corpse in his car and panics.
