Popeye is courting Olive over the phone when Bluto barges in, eavesdrops and hacks the line, masquerading as Popeye. The deception triggers a slap‑slap‑sticky showdown as the rivals battle atop the telephone wires strung outside Olive’s house, each trying to out‑muscle the other while the conversation spirals into a chaotic high‑wire fight.
