Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese‑American track star, moves from California to Osaka High School, an all‑boys school, and must pose as a boy to be near her idol, high‑jump champion Izumi Sano. With short hair, a flattened chest and a deeper voice, she becomes Izumi’s roommate. Izumi eventually discovers Mizuki’s true gender and falls for her, while classmate Shuichi Nakatsu also develops feelings, unaware she’s female.
