It recounts the journey of eight warriors, each possessing a jewel, who are destined to confront a curse affecting the Satomi family. As Hokusai becomes captivated by the unfolding tale, he frequently visits Bakin, and a unique bond forms between them. Bakin dedicates years to serializing the story, driven by a desire to champion virtue and punish wrongdoing, but faces a challenge when he begins to lose his eyesight as the narrative nears its conclusion.
