Hua Heng, a penniless aspiring painter, makes a living painting billboard ads on building façades. He and his friends rehearse kung‑fu in a makeshift gym inside an abandoned building. His girlfriend, bar maid Gao Xin, is trapped in loan‑shark debt. When Hua Heng is mocked and attacked in a street fight, outsider Jiaji steps in and offers his assistance.
