Directed by JoBeth Williams for Showtime, the family drama stars Mischa Barton as Frankie and Ingrid Uribe as her neighbor Hazel. Frankie, an orphan raised by her stern grandmother (Joan Plowright), pursues ballet like her mother—a prima ballerina killed in a crash—yet prefers baseball. Hazel lives with her dad and brother, runs for mayor at 13 and is an outspoken activist. Both leads make their unlikely ambitions feel sincere, making the story easy to root for.
