A squad of Marines perched on a hilltop in Vietnam radios for a Medevac after a sniper wounds one of them. Before the helicopter can touch down, a large Vietcong force assaults the position. The Marines endure a fierce, blood‑soaked battle, sustain additional casualties, and ultimately drive the attackers back, leaving the rescue aircraft still circling warily, uncertain if a safe landing is possible.
