When Viking chief Thorvald is mortally wounded in battle, he discovers his son Erloff lacks the strength to lead. In his will he splits his estate between Erloff and his sister’s brave son Erik, giving Erik his weapons and the charge to command a seafaring expedition in search of new lands for settlement, a vital task as their Scandinavian village cannot withstand the looming power of the Danish kingdom.
