Based on Benny Moré’s life, the film centers on the early‑1950s when he quits Duany’s orchestra to form his own Banda Gigante. Flashbacks reveal his Mexican triumphs, while the narrative follows his entanglement in Batista’s Cuban coup and a troubled Venezuelan tour plagued by a spiteful businessman. After a collapse and hospital stay, Moré vows sobriety, and years later he reunites with former band‑mate Monchy, now struggling to survive.
