Jeju‑do, Korea’s largest island between the Korean Peninsula and Japan, preserves a centuries‑old tradition of female free‑divers—haenyeo—who dive without gear to gather shellfish, octopus and sea urchins for market. Most are now in their 60s‑70s, and their daughters hesitate to inherit the hard work and its health risks. The filmmaker documents their hardship, pride and the fading heritage.
