In rural Ethiopia, a young girl named Hirut faces a forced marriage and abduction as dictated by tradition. When she fights back and kills her captor, she risks facing the death penalty under local law. Meaza, a determined lawyer, steps in to defend Hirut, challenging the deeply rooted custom that has historically suppressed women’s voices. Their fight becomes a courageous battle for justice, the right to self-defense, and a future where women are free from oppression and ancient traditions.
