Bernard meets Jane at a London nightclub and is instantly attracted. Jane thinks her father's death was not an accident but tied to blackmail over a photo of her step‑mother. Bernard finds the blackmailer’s corpse with Jane nearby and insists she’s innocent. They flee, chased by the blackmailer’s dwarf henchman, his men, and the police, all suspecting Bernard of murder. Jane says her brother Jerome can help, though she claims not to know his whereabouts. As bodies pile up, Bernard learns the truth and wonders if it will save him.
