When Chris Murdoch becomes obsessively infatuated with Kaori Ozaki, a Japanese student at a Seattle university, he begins killing Japanese men who have shown her kindness, claiming he is avenging Pearl Harbor. FBI Agent Sara Daniels is drawn into the case, but the investigation stalls when Yoko Sugimura of the Tokyo police arrives to return Kaori to her powerful father.
