The film explores ten distinct stories spanning centuries—from 1550 to 2083—each set in Brazil and connected by the recurring theme of violence impacting relationships. The narratives include a slave revolt on a coffee plantation, the suffering of indigenous peoples, the abduction of a diplomat, and the persecution of Jews during the Inquisition. Other stories depict a woman revealing her torturer’s crime to an audience, a father and son during wartime, and a widow struggling with loss and forced marriage.
