Keith, Anna and their son Peter share a close suburban life until Anna finds a note revealing Keith’s long‑standing affair. She confronts his lover, Steve, who warns her of AIDS risk and urges testing. Steve connects her with Jim, a man needing round‑the‑clock care who has accepted his impending death. When Keith suddenly leaves, Anna tells Peter about the HIV threat; the revelation drives him into a violent reaction, and he runs away.
