Adapted from P.C. Jersild’s 1976 novel, the film follows ten‑year‑old Reine, who is expected to spend the summer at a camp called Children’s Island. Instead he stays in Stockholm while his mother works at a hospital, pretending to be at camp. As he roams the city, his secret leads to a series of encounters that shape his coming‑of‑age journey.
