The old girl is no ordinary woman—she wears both skirts and trousers. Charley Wyckham and Jack Chesney coerce their fellow student, Fancourt Babberly, into masquerading as Charley’s supposed Brazilian aunt, Donna Lucia, to serve as a chaperone for their secret meetings with Amy and Kitty, the niece and ward of the curmudgeonly Stephen Spettigue. The ruse backfires when Fancourt, still in drag, unexpectedly becomes the object of affection for both the elderly Spettigue and Sir Francis Chesney.
